Inspiration from Five Sentence Fiction

Today I have a post from Lillie McFerrin's Five Sentence Fiction. The prompt word is "Lost," and this story inspired by a moment in my life.

I don't want to go home, to my husband's apartment or back across the ocean to my parents' house. My request for a long-stay visa denied, I wander the cobblestone streets in tears, not even understanding the French spoken around me. I am lost and unwelcomed in this foreign country. Then I hear a familiar voice say, "You are not alone, 'cause I am there with you, and we'll get lost together." Michael Bublé is singing to me from a car radio, and suddenly I am ready for this adventure.
