Inspiration from A

Today is the 1st of April and the start of the A to Z Blog Challenge! Each day, except for Sundays, I will have a post on a letter of the alphabet. They will follow the blog's theme of inspiration: people inspired by life, how books and movies were inspired, things in life that have inspired me, books and fims that have inspired me...etc. Welcome to new and old readers. Thanks for leaving me links to your blogs so I can enjoy reading your work too. Go to the Challenge website to meet more great bloggers!

A is for Apple. ThAt's pretty simple. A little too eAsy mAybe.

But An Apple wAs once a greAt source of inspirAtion to a greAt mind.

WAit for it...thunk!

IsAAc Newton...

William Stukeley in Memoirs of Sir Isaac Newton's Life, describes how he heard the story from Sir Issac. "We went into the garden, & drank tea under the shade of some appletrees, only he, & myself. amidst other discourse, he told me, he was just in the same situation, as when formerly, the notion of gravitation came into his mind. "why should that apple always descend perpendicularly to the ground," thought he to him self: occasion'd by the fall of an apple, as he sat in a comtemplative mood: "why should it not go sideways, or upwards? but constantly to the earths centre? assuredly, the reason is, that the earth draws it."

And there you have it; the theory of gravity. Have you ever been inspired by fruit? Have you ever made a major break through by watching life around you? If not, go sit under some apple trees!

  8. That's the big kind of inspiration. Heck, even THE DAVINCI CODE used it.
