We love stories. We are enthralled from "Once upon a time" to "happily ever after." Sure, learning to read, phonetics and all that are rough. Sure, we struggle to read instead of watching TV. But when we read, it seems o usually be a story (at least in my case). Glorious fiction!
But there is so muc nonfiction all around us! Biographies, cook books, text books, true adventure accounts, self-help...at some point or another, we have to read it. Start young is easy to say, but how do we teach kids to read nonfiction?
My personal response is this eHow article, How to Teach Students To Read Nonfiction. What would you have added? Do you have any nonfiction tricks?
